AFCON Winner Pops Up on the Radar of Barcelona Ahead of the Summer Transfer Window

Kalidou Koulibaly could finally be leaving Italian giants Napoli in the summer transfer window after links with Spanish heavyweight Barcelona.

The experienced center-back is reported to be Xavi's first option for a defender when the window opens in July.

According to 13 Football, the Africa Cup of Nations winner will be leaving Napoli following interest from Xavi and Barcelona.

Xavi is poised on improving his squad after inheriting a crestfallen Barcelona side that were struggling in La Liga.

The former Barcelona captain has managed to change the atmosphere in camp as the Catalans continue to climb up on the La Liga table.

Since Xavi's arrival, he has managed to bring in Adama Traore, former teammate Dani Alves and Pierre-Emerick Aubamayeng.

The trio have been instrumental in the change of fortunes at the Camp Nou.

Meanwhile, Koulibaly has been key to Napoli's return to top of the serie A following his swashbuckling performances for the club.

The Senegal captain is expected to cost Barcelona in the region of 70 million euros with a season left on his contract at Napoli.

He also helped Senegal to their first Africa Cup of Nations triumph early this month.

Aubamayeng scores again as Barcelona thump Athletic Club

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Barcelona on Sunday night, 27 February, continued with their impressive performance this season by beating visiting Athletic Bilbao 4-0 in Spanish La Liga encounter.

Xavi and his wards went into this Spanish La Liga battle against Athletic Bilbao with boosted morale having defeated Napoli in the Europa League round of 32 clash.

Barcelona players were impressive in the game against Napoli beating the Italian side in front of their fans in which Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen was unable to score.
