Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has hinted he could dump the north London club following their shock defeat to relegation candidates, Burnley.
Off a thrilling 3-2 win over Premier League leaders, Man City, Tottenham were unable to build on that momentum as they suffered a shock loss against the Clarets on Wednesday night, February 23.
Ben Mee's 71st-minute goal made all the difference at Turf Moor as Spurs were dealt a blow in their hopes to qualify for the Champions League.
Conte reacts to Burnley defeat
Speaking after the match, Conte described the loss as "difficult" as he bemoaned Spurs' lack of consistency.
The experienced Italian tactician went on to suggest he could depart the London club, just months after he succeeded Nuno Espirito who was sacked.
"It was difficult tonight. It’s not only tonight, in the last five games we’ve lost four games," Conte said.
"It means that we need to… there will be an assessment, an assessment about the club, about me, because I think for me it’s very frustrating to lose the four games in the last five games," he added.
Tottenham falter in top-four race
Meanwhile, Spurs' disappointing defeat at Burnley now leaves them in eighth on the Premier League standings with 39 points, a massive seven behind fourth-placed Man United.
Whereas they still have two games in hand, it remains to be seen how much of a fight they could make in their push to finish in the top four.
