  • Pep Guardiola has vowed to get his Man City charges ready for the next clash as they push to retain the domestic crown
  • Man City failed to maintain their nine-point advantage over Liverpool when they took on Tottenham at Etihad Stadium
  • The Premier League leaders went on to suffer a 3-2 defeat at home during the fixture, with Harry Kane netting the winner deep in the second half
  • City's defeat left them just six points ahead of Liverpool who have a chance to cut the deficit to three points when they play their game in hand against Leeds

Pep Guardiola has admitted the Premier League title race is wide open following Man City's 3-2 dramatic defeat in the hands of Tottenham Hotspur.

The thrilling Saturday, February 20, clash looked set for a 2-2 draw before a magical moment from Harry Kane saw Spurs earn a shock win at Etihad Stadium.

Despite the defeat, City remain on top of the Premier League standings with 63 points, with more than 10 matches to play.

While the Citizens have a six-point advantage over their closest challengers for the title, Liverpool, the Reds will have a chance to cut the deficit to just three points when they play their game in hand against Leeds United.

Pep Guardiola's title prediction

According to Guardiola, the title race is far from over as he actually expects the remainder of the season to be tougher.

"I never said the title race was over. It's normal. In January and February the teams at the bottom won their games because everyone fights for everything. It will be difficult. We know it," the Spaniard said as quoted by Mirror UK.
"But it's happened. We lost a game. We will recover with training sessions and prepare for the next game. We have to fight for every game and every game we are going to win we will be closer," he added.
