Just like Oliver Twist, celebrated Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane is targeting success in the Africa Cup of Nations as well as the Club World Cup despite his long list of trophies won.
The 57-year-old who recently revealed his long-term ambitions of staying with the Cairo-based giants is also looking at dominating the continent at the national team level.
Mosimane, who has previously served in the capacity of caretaker manager for the senior men's national team of South Africa, wants to cover himself in glory at the national team level.
“To win the Cup of Nations, it is something that [the late] Stephen Keshi has won, Aliou Cisse has done, something the Algerian coach has won, and probably that is one of the things as Africans we would love to win," he shared with Ghanaian journalists Yaw Ofosu Larbi and Owuraku Ampofo as quoted by 3news.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns trainer also added he would want to win gold for the continent at the FIFA Club World Cup level after recently winning bronze with Al Ahly.
“I will really really like to change the colour of the medal in the [Club] World Cup for my continent and will also love to win the Cup of Nations for the team I would be coaching. Be it South Africa or whichever country it might be. That will be nice,” he added.
Despite opening up on his national team ambitions, a grateful Mosimane waxed spiritual deflecting his success to God.

FootballBut also you cannot be ungrateful that no coach on the continent has won the trophies that I have won, Champions League, Super Cup and being bronze medallist in the Club World Cup two times. I should also be grateful to God for giving me the other side,” Mosimane said.
