  • Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has described rivals Man City as the best team in the world
  • City have been dominant across competitions this season, with their spectacular run of results having them sitting on the summit of the log
  • However, Tottenham ended the dominance on Saturday as they picked a shock 3-2 win at Etihad to silence Guardiola's men
  • Despite the result, Conte still contends the Manchester-based club are without doubt the best team in the world

Antonio Conte has snubbed both Chelsea and Inter Milan to name rivals Man City as the best team in the world.

Conte enjoyed some significant success with the Blues during his first stint in the Premier League, winning both the FA Cup and the EPL with the west Londoners.

At Inter, the experienced tactician led the San Siro-based club back to glory as he ended Juve's decade-long dominance to lift the Serie A title.

Conte declares Man City the best team in the world

However, the Tottenham Hotspur boss has snubbed both teams that he managed to declare Pep Guardiola's City as the best.

Conte made the claim after Tottenham's dramatic win over the Premier League champions on Saturday, February 19.

The north Londoners' 3-2 win over City saw them become only the fourth team to record a Premier League double over City.

A brace from Harry Kane and a goal from Juve loanee Dejan Kulusevski were enough to seal the surprise victory for Spurs.

Speaking after the match, Conte said:

"For sure it was a great win for us against a fantastic team like Man City. It's a great compliment to City too because, in my opinion, they showed themselves to be the best team in the world."
"To win a game like this means we had the perfect performance," he added.

Arsenal eyeing Napoli star

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Arsenal have intensified their push to sign an experienced midfielder at the end of the ongoing season.

Mikel Arteta was looking at strengthening his midfield during the January transfer window but missed out on key targets.

Reports now suggest the Gunners have opened talks with Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz with the view of bringing the player to the Emirates.
