Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson provided one of the assists of the season on Saturday, February 19 as the Reds battled to a 3-1 win over Norwich City.
The game was by no means a straightforward one for Jurgen Klopp’s men as they had to come from behind to secure the win.
With the scoreline level at 1-1, the Liverpool shot-stopper came up with a moment of magic as he swung his boot at the ball to pick up Mohammed Salah, who did brilliantly to trick two defenders and the keeper to give his side the lead.
While Salah’s goal was another exhibition of the Egyptian’s class, it was Alisson’s assist that left fans talking on social media.
“Alisson just got an assist while falling over. That man could make crocs look cool,” One fan said on Twitter.
“Alisson is EASILY the best goalkeeper in the world. No one comes close,” said another.
“Allison with the assist of the season,” another added.
The Liverpool number 1 has quite an impressive statistic as he now has two assists to his name in a Liverpool shirt.
In comparison to his outfield teammates, Alisson has the same number of assists this season as Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Thiago Alcantara.
Liverpool close the gap to Man City
The Reds had to stage a second-half comeback after Milot Rashica's deflected strike gave the Canaries a shock lead in the first half.
The unrelenting Reds threatened Norwich’s goal numerous times, and their persistence eventually paid off as Sadio Mane acrobatically turned home Konstantinos Tsimikas' header before Salah turned the game on its head three minutes later.
Luis Diaz, who recently signed from FC Porto, then rounded off the win with a lovely chipped finish for his first goal for his new side.
