Liverpool come alive in the second half

Making his debut, new signing Luiz Diaz grabbed an assist minutes after coming on, as he capitalized on a mistake inside the Cardiff box before squaring for Minamino to tap in from close range.

It was an emotional comeback for Harvey Elliott as the youngster bagged Liverpool’s third after his return from injury.

The 18-year-old has been out for five months due to a fracture dislocation of his ankle.

Rubin Colwill grabbed a late consolation for Cardiff City as the final scoreline read 3-1.
