Accra Lions F.C's history
ALFC joined the second division in 2015. However, the club took two seasons to book their Zone Four division championship ticket after garnering 73 points in 28 games. Monumental victories over Emmanuel FC R-Stake and Photizo Future Professionals in the promotion-only play-offs took them to the Division One League.

German tactician Rainer Kraft resigned from his position as the head coach of the Lions in December 2021 after serving for two years. The experienced manager led the club to the Ghana Premier League for the first time in its history.
Meanwhile, Accra Lions F.C's owners appointed Rainer's assistant James Francis to continue with his legacy. The club also recruited former Ghana assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko as technical director on a one-and-half year deal.
