West Ham United star seems to be in big trouble as the Frenchman could face up to four years in prison after a clip captured him kicking and slapping his cat, Independent reports.
If found under the new animal protection law in his native France, the player could be sent to jail to spend, at least, four years.
It was gathered that a complaint has been filed against the 27-year-old in Paris where fans are angry with the clip showing him attacking his pet at his Essex home.

FootballMirror reports that lawyers are now working with Million Friends Foundation ( La Fondation 30 Millions d’Amis ), the largest animal rights group in France, contacting prosecutors.
In a statement by the spokesman of the Foundation, Zouma committed a heinous act and the player must be prosecuted.
The statement further claimed that the Foundation is seeking that the player no longer represents France national team as they filed a legal complaint against him.
According to article 113-6 of the French Penal Code, a French citizen can be prosecuted for criminal acts carried out abroad.
Tough new animal protection laws were introduced in France in 2021, meaning that the ‘mistreatment of animals’ is now punishable by up to four years in prison and a fine equivalent to £50,000.
Meanwhile, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) which is the largest animal welfare charity in the UK has taken into care the two cats owned by West Ham United star Kurt Zouma,.

FootballZouma has also been fined a staggering £250,000 after footage showed the moment he kicked and slapped one of his cats in his mansion.
A clip exclusively obtained by SunSport captured the 27-year-old dropping the animal from a height about his chest then kicking it upon landing.
Sports Brief earlier reported that a petition calling for the prosecution of Kurt Zouma has gone viral on the internet, with well over 200,000 signatures already, as at the time of filing this report.
The defender was in West Ham’s starting lineup in their 1-0 win over Watford and manager David Moyes is under heavy criticism for fielding the Frenchman.
He could be facing serious prosecution after being spotted angrily kicking and slapping his pet cat in his kitchen at his mansion.
