Legendary former Nigerian international midfielder Augustine "Jay-Jay" Okocha was seen posing with a Kaizer Chiefs jersey bearing his name and player number from his playing days.
Amakhosi fans could only fantasise about an alternate history in which Okocha might have turned out in the club's colours. He was in South Africa as part of a panel of experts during SuperSport's coverage of the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
As reported on the Bundesliga's website, Okocha made 492 club appearances in his career, scoring 101 goals during that time. According to Soccerway, he also represented his country from 1994 to 2006, winning 73 caps and scoring 14 goals.

Okocha's fellow countryman Daniel Akpeyi is currently the only Nigerian player on the books of the Amakhosi. The goalkeeper was selected in the Super Eagles' squad for the AFCON tournament as reported on the club's website, though he did not make an appearance.
According to IOL, Okocha had nothing but praise for Akpeyi, saying:
"Daniel is a very important player for the squad. He only lost his place through injury, and it shows how strong the whole squad is because once you miss out because of injury it is always difficult to get back for a goalkeeper."
“It is a plus for us as the keeper’s role is very important. It is important to have someone you can rely on if your defence is breached. I am happy that we have a happy competition in our goalkeeping department, and it is a plus for any coach."
