Everton and Newcastle clash in the English Premier League today, with both clubs coming off a successful transfer window.
Everton not only added to their squad but also brought in a new coach as Frank Lampard replaced Rafa Benitez.
Lampard wasted little in bringing in new faces to the club, including that of Ashley Cole as a part of his background staff.
Lampard also made great signings in the January transfer window, bringing in Dele Alli, Donny van de Beek and Anwar El Ghazi. The new signings could make their debut tonight, Everton confirmed on their website.
Newcastle also strengthened during the recent transfer window bringing in Dan Burn, Matt Targett Bruno Guimarães, Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood.
Fans were excited to see who Newcastle would sign after the club after the club came into big money. Newcastle was recently taken over by a Saudi Arabia group and therefore could compete with some of the bigger clubs in terms of wealth.
Brazil international Bruno Guimarães was Newcastle’s biggest signing and coach Eddie Howe told Newcastle United’s website that the player could make his debut tonight but that he would need time to adapt to a new league.
Everton come into the game on the back of a defeat to Aston Villa while Newcastle comes into the game after beating Leeds.
Both teams are in desperate need of more wins though as they languish at the wrong end of the Premier League table. Newcastle United are in 19th on 15 points while Everton is in 16th, only on 19 points.
