The Liverpool striker scored the decisive penalty kick on Sunday night, February 6, which gave the Senegalese team the AFCON 2021 title beating seven-time champions Egypt.
Egypt started their campaign at the just concluded 2021 African Cup of Nations on a losing note against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, but they bounced back winning their subsequent games before reaching the final.

And in the final against Senegal, Egypt tried their best, but was not enough against a more determined Senegalese national team.
Sadio Mane would have even sealed the win for Senegal in the first half, but his penalty was saved by Egyptian goalkeeper before the final match entered into penalties after extra time.
Before their win over Egypt in the final, Senegal have never won the AFCON title and it is awesome to see Sadio Mane putting the title beside him on his bed.
