After missing the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon with the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Odion Ighalo decided to terminate his contract at Al Shabab and joined Al Hilal in the January transfer window.
The Super Eagles missed the service of Odion Ighalo and Victor OSimhen at the just concluded AFCON 2021 where Nigeria crashed out in the round of 16 losing against Tunisia.
