Confusion at Old Trafford As Manchester United Considers New Role for Cristiano Ronaldo
- Manchester United are considering using Cristiano Ronaldo as a winger as Ralf Ragnick plans on shaking up tactics for the rest of the season
- The 36-year old has been used as a striker since his return to Old Trafford from Juventus last summer
- Manchester United appear short on wingers at the moment having reduced their squad depth by selling off some players in the January transfer window
Cristiano Ronaldo is being considered for a different role in the Manchester United team as manager Ralf Ragnick considers switching up his tactics for the remainder part of the season.
United reduced the depth of their squad in the January transfer window with the Old Trafford club selling off Amad Diallo to Rangers while Anthony Martial joined Sevilla on loan.
The Manchester Evening News reports Ronaldo is now being considered by manager Ralf Ragnick to fill up the void on the wings.
The Portuguese superstar is not new to the position as he started his football career playing wide for Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United.
Playing Ronaldo on the wings will give manager Ralf Ragnick to give a starting berth to Edinson Cavani who has been frustrated not starting games for the Red Devils.
Ronaldo could miss West Ham clash
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo is amongst the list of Manchester United players who could miss the Red Devils Premier League game against Westham.
Ronaldo suffered a neck injury during the 3-1 win against Brentford in the previous fixture and is doubtful to be involved against West Ham.
According to We All Follow United, the 36-years old forward underwent two to three hours of treatment on Wednesday February 2.
Ronaldo has eight goals for Manchester United this season in the Premier League and is also the Club’s top scorer in the UEFA Champions League.
