FC Barcelona of Spain have announced that former Arsenal captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has joined the club until June 2025.
A club statement on Wednesday, 2, February claims that Barcelona and the player have reached an agreement after he terminated his contract with Premier League club Arsenal.
The La Liga giants have also etched a €100 million buyout clause in the deal as he now joins the club’s first team at the Camp Nou.
Metro reports that the striker who earned £350,000-a week has agreed to take a considerable pay cut in order to make the move to Barcelona as his deal with the Catalan giants is worth £80,000-a-week before bonuses.
There is also an exit clause on the deal according to a statement from the club which reads:
"The player will sign a contract until June 30, 2025, with an exit option agreed on June 30, 2023, and will have a termination clause of 100 million euros.:
The 2015 African Player of the Year fell out with the English club last December after he returned late from a holiday trip.
Aubameyang was consequently stripped of the Gunners’ captaincy and was no longer part of the first team at the Emirates Stadium, GOAL reports.

Earlier, Arsenal also confirmed that the player terminated his contract with them by mutual consent as he has left the London club.
The striker captained the club for two-and-a-half seasons making 163 appearances and scoring 92 goals in all competitions.
Aubamayeng was Arsenal's captain until he was stripped of the armband in December 2021, leading to a frosty relationship between him and the club

Meanwhile, former Chelsea defender John Terry was left dumbfounded at the fact that no Premier League club acquired his former teammate Diego Costa in the January transfer window.
Costa is currently a free agent after parting ways with Brazilian outfit Atletico Miniero and has been heavily tipped to join Arsenal, especially after the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Taking to social media, Terry expressed his bemusement that Costa was still a free agent, tweeting:
"I can’t believe @diegocosta hasn’t been signed by a Premier League club? This man is a winner and would make any team stronger."
Chelsea announce signing of Mason Burstow
Sports Brief earlier reported that English League One side Charlton Athletic have confirmed the transfer of Mason Burstow to Chelsea.
The Blues are understood to have snapped up the youngster from the third-tier side after they placed a "substantial bid."
In a statement announcing the deal, Charlton Athletic revealed the teenage sensation will return to the club on loan for the remainder of the 2021/22 season.
