  • Aubameyang is desperate to leave Premier League club Arsenal as Barcelona are closing in on landing the Gabonese
  • With Barcelona’s wage cap almost full, Aubameyang is willing to accept huge pay cut even if it means to play for ‘practically nothing’
  • The striker was frozen out of the Gunners’ first-team after he was stripped of the captaincy for returning late after a holiday trip

Former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is desperately prepared to leave the London club and head to Spanish side Barcelona, even if it means to play for free.

Multiple sources are also reporting that the Catalan giants are also interested in signing the embattled Gunner on loan until the end of the season.

Barcablaugranes reported that the real issue that must be addressed is who will pay the Gabonese’ wages if he joins the La Liga club.

And Diario Sport claims via BBC Sport that Aubameyang has agreed to take a huge pay cut just to get the deal over the line.

Although there were earlier talks that such a deal could only happen if Ousmane Demebele completes his move away from Barcelona, but it seems there is room on the wage bill.

More players arrive Barcelona

Aubameyang won’t be the only player to take a pay cut to move to Barca. New signings Ferran Torres and Adama Traore have both moved on reduced salaries, while Dani Alves is said to be earning the lowest salary permitted by La Liga.

Barcelona announce Adama Traore signing

Meanwhile, Barcelona have announced the loan signing of winger Adama Traore from Premier League side Wolves until the end of the ongoing League season.

Since Barcelona chiefs appointed Xavi as the new boss at Nou Camp, the Spaniard has been trying to change the fortune of Barcelona for the best.

The 26-year-old began his career in the Catalans' famed La Masia youth system before moving on in 2015.

He has now returned to his first club where he becomes their third signing of the January window and Barcelona even have the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Lingard agrees personal terms with Newcastle United

Sports Brief earlier reported that desperate Jesse Lingard could be on his way out of Manchester United as reports claim the youngster has agreed to personal terms with Premier League side Newcastle United.

Lingard has been underplayed under managers Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick and the player is desperate for first-team action elsewhere.

The striker who played on loan at West Ham United returned to the Old Trafford club hoping to get more minutes of action.
