Mikel Arteta who is the manager of Premier League side Arsenal is now left with contracts of two of his forwards expiring at the end of the season following the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before his exit at the Emirates stadium was thrown out of the team by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta who also stripped him of his captaincy.

There was serious talks about the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before he traveled to Cameroon with the Gabonese national team even though he was unable to shine at the AFCON.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubamayeng finally left Arsenal after completing a deadline day transfer from the English club to Spanish giants Barcelona.

The 32-year-old's move to the Catalan giants nearly fell through, but a last minute agreement was reached as the ex-Dortmund man put pen to paper to seal his move.

Aubamayeng joins the Catalans on a free transfer with 18 months left on his Arsenal contract.

The Gabonese was Arsenal captain until he was stripped off the armband in December 2021, leading to a frosty relationship between him and the club.
