Otto Addo has is the best fit for the Black Stars job, according to Tony Aubynn.
The former Ghanaian international is currently the assistant coach of Dortmund.
Otto Addo's name has come up strongly as a contender to replace Milovan Rajevac
Ghana Football Association (GFA) executive committee member Dr. Tony Aubynn has thrown his support behind Otto Addo to become the new Ghana coach.
The Black Stars are in the hunt for a new manager following their abysmal performance in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which cost coach Milovan Rajevac his job.
Addo was part of Milovan Rajevac's technical team as one of two deputies, with the other being Maxwell Konadu.
Reports emanating in the local media indicate that former Brighton and Norwich manager Chris Hughton is favorite to land the Black Stars coach job.
But Dr Aubynn believes Otto Addo, who is currently the deputy coach at German Bundesliga side, Dortmund, is the best choice for the job.
He told Angel FM:
“Otto Addo is the best choice now because he was the assistant for Milo and he has trained with the boys and they respect him so much."
“He’s the right man for the job now, considering the fact that he’s also a former player and he has been with the team for the past months but Borussia Dortmund are not even ready to release him for us. They don't want him to go and that is one of our biggest challenegs right now.
Addo was born in Hamburg to Ghanaian parents and made 15 appearances for the Black Stars.
He began his coaching career while at the twilight of his playing career with Hamburg in 2007 where he worked as a player-coach, mainly helping the youth side.
The Black Stars will play Nigeria in the playoff of the 2022 World Cup in March.

Meanwhile, Chris Hughton, who is expected to be named coach of the Black Stars, has already initiated steps to convince Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi to play for Ghana.
The former Brighton and Hove Albion manager reportedly met the father of Hudson-Odoi in Accra, as they held talks over the winger's possible nationality switch.
Hudson-Odoi has been in Ghana for a short break, and it is believed the UEFA Champions League winner met Chris Hughton about his international career.
