Ghana legend, Sulley Aliu Muntari, has reportedly signed for Ghanaian champions, Accra Hearts of Oak, after almost two year since he last played competitively.
The 37-year-old, who has been training with the club for sometime now, agreed a one-year deal with the Phobians, and will join the club till the rest of the season.
Muntari last played in Spain for lower tier side Albacete Balompie before returning to Ghana, where he came close to signing for Hearts but the deal fell through.
He has since been inactive, however, the deal is seen as a major boost for local football in Ghana as he becomes the latest high profile player after Asamoah Gyan to join the Ghanaian topflight.
Sulley Muntari had a stellar career in Europe, having played for Udinese, Portsmouth, AC Milan and Inter Milan. He was several trophies including the 2010 UEFA Champions League.
The 2008 English FA Cup winner had a good international career with Ghana, playing in all three World Cups with the Black Stars. He made 84 appearances and scored 20 goals for the national team.
He scored two goals at the FIFA World Cup, one against Czech in the 2006 tournament in Germany, and a belter against Uruguay in the quarter finals in South Africa.
