Kenyan striker Jonah Ayunga was in fine shape for Morecambe FC as he netted a stunning brace in their English League One meeting with Accrington Stanley.
Morecambe were looking to make it back-to-back wins in League One when they travelled to Wham Stadium for the Saturday afternoon trip.
In an action-packed first half, the relegation-threatened Morecambe raced into a two-goal lead before the half-hour mark.
The Shimps' first real attack on 14 minutes saw Cole Stockton's strike saved by Toby Savin but only half cleared to Ayunga who fired home from the edge of the area to hand the visitors the lead.
Despite the hosts mounting serious pressure, the Kenyan attacker doubled Morecambe's lead in the 26th minute thanks to Stockton's well-placed pass.
However, Stephen Robinson's charges were unable to hold firm to the lead as they allowed the homeside to spring a comeback to ensure the tie ends all square.
Stanley got one back in the 35th minute via Colby Bishop who headed home from Sean McConville's corner for his 11th goal of the season.
Michael Nottingham made it 2-2 in the fourth minute of added time at the end of the first half, planting a powerful header in the back of the net from McConville's free-kick.
Neither side was able to find the winner in the second half as the encounter ended all square.
Meanwhile, Ayunga's brace took his tally to three goals in two matches - having scored in Morecambe's last outing against Wycombe.
He will be hoping to continue with his fine form when the Shrimps take on Sheffield Wednesday in their next league clash.
