Chris Hughton, the former manager of English Premier League clubs, Norwich and Brighton, has popped up on the radar of the Ghana Football Association as a candidate for the vacant Black Stars coaching job.
The GFA sacked Serbian trainer, Milovan Rajevac, after a poor Africa Cup of Nation showing in Cameroon.
And according tp a report by myjoyonline, Chris Hughton has been earmarked as the man to replace Milovan Rajevac.
The former Ireland player has been in Ghana for some days now, and he is expected to meet the Executive Council of the Football Association next week.
Chris Hughton has Ghanaian heritage, which many believe could work for him because of culture familiarity.
When appointed, Chris Hughton will lead Ghana for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers play-offs against Nigeria in March.
Other names also on the radar of the Football Association are former internationals Ibrahim Tanko and Otto Addo.
Ghana in a hunt for new coach
Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, the Ghana Football Association will be looking for a new Black Stars coach in the next few days after confirming the sacking of Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac.
Rajevac was sacked after leading Ghana to its worst ever Africa Cup of Nations performance, after the Black Stars failed to win a single game in Cameroon.
In a statement released on the FA website, the football association revealed the decision to let Milovan Rajevac leave was based on three reports from AFCON.

Nigeria has been drawn to face arch-rivals Ghana for a spot at the 2022 World Cup holding in Qatar as the draws were conducted on Saturday, January 22 in Douala, Cameroon.
The Super Eagles will be bidding to qualify for a sixth world cup appearance having previously represented Africa at the biggest football showpiece in 1994, 1998, 2002, 2010 and 2014 with only 2006 the last time Nigeria failed to qualify for the World Cup.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have scheduled the dates for the playoffs in the month of March with the Ghanaians hosting the first leg in Accra in March while the reverse fixture will be played in Nigeria on March 29.
