French winger Ousmane Dembele has blasted Barcelona on social media claiming the Spanish giants are trying to blackmail him into signing a new contract.
According to a report via the Daily Star, The La Liga giants confirmed earlier on Thursday that the Frenchman would be sold this month after rebuffing Barca's attempts to tie him down to a new deal.
Dembele’s contract with Barcelona runs out at the end of the current campaign and the Catalan club have been trying to tie down the French winger to a new deal which has proved abortive thus far.
Barcelona had asked Demebele for a paycut in the new deal as the Spanish giants were currently struggling financially and it was thought the Frenchman was considering the offer but got angered when the club announced the signing of Ferran Torres from Manchester City for £55m.
Ousmane Dembele has now hit back at Barcelona on social media on what he describes as attempts to ‘blackmail’ him over his future as reported by The Express.
The 24-year old is not out of suitors as it has been reported Manchester United and Juventus are interested in signing the winger for next season.
