Following Ghana’s exit at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, Arsenal fans are excited as Thomas Partey is billed to return to join his teammates at the Emirates, Complete Sports reports.
The Gunners are now boosted following the availability of Partey who scored in Ghana’s shocking 3-2 loss to Comoros as they are dumped out of the 2021 AFCON tournament in Cameroon.
Debutant Comoros showed class and quality to defeat the Black Stars who played most of the game with 10-men after Andre Ayew was shown a straight red.
And as they exit the competition, Partey is expected to return to the Emirates Stadium to join his club teammates; meaning he would not have missed a Premier League clash after their game vs Tottenham was postponed.
Just before his departure for the tournament in Cameroon, Partey was very impressive for the Gunners and was a standout player in their game against league leaders Manchester City earlier this month.
As a result, many Gooners are delighted by his imminent return.
One wrote on Twitter as per SunSport:
“It’s quite something, how you can fly to another continent for a tournament, come back, and not miss one league game! Up Ghana!”
Another added:
“Thomas Partey being knocked out of the AFCON and going back to The Arsenal is lovely news, let’s play some games now.”

Zimbabwe 2-1 Guinea
Sports Brief earlier reported that Zimbabwe went into their Group B clash with Guinea knowing that they would finish bottom of the group no matter what the outcome, but no one seemed to have told them that as they beat their more fancied opponents, 2-1.
Zimbabwe made nine changes to the team that lost to Malawi as coach Norman Mapeza decided to give everyone a chance to compete in the tournament.
Guinea finished second in the group as a result of the defeat but still qualified for the round of 16. They will be without captain Naby Keita for that clash after he picked up a yellow card, his second of the tournament.
