Atletico Madrid star Luis Suarez is reportedly eyeing a return to the Premier League as he hopes to reunite with Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa during the summer transfer window, Daily Star reports.
It was gathered that Suarez has ignored advances from three Brazilian clubs with an intention to return to England.
According to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, several clubs are jostling for the signature of the Uruguayan.
But Suarez is desperate for Villa move in order to follow the footsteps of his former teammate Philippe Coutinho who joined Villa on loan from Spanish outfit Barcelona.
And the Brazilian made an instant impact on his debut having come from the bench to help secure a 2-2 draw, making an assist and then scoring against Manchester United on Sunday.
Gerrard's comments on Suarez
Back in 2015, Gerrard who convinced Suarez to remain at Anfield two years earlier said via Metro:
"I don't think anyone ever looks forward to playing against Luis Suarez, he is a fantastic talent and a very dangerous player.
"He is a fantastic teammate, probably the best player I have played with.
"He's a good guy, a family man away from the pitch, we keep in touch and have supported each other throughout our careers."
Watford agree deal to sign Samuel Kalu
Meanwhile, in their bid to bolster the squad during the January transfer window, reports have it that English Premier League club Watford have agreed to a deal to sign Nigeria’s Samuel Kalu from Bordeaux.
