French forward Karim Benzema has threatened Real Madrid he will walk away from the Bernabau if the club goes ahead to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland next summer.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has been a keen admirer of the 21-year old Norwegian as they look to strengthen their grip on the Spanish top flight next season.
Haaland has been impressive for Dortmund since joining up with the Bravarians from RB Salzburg in 2018 scoring an impressive 78 goals in 77 games during his time at Signal Iduna Park.
Benzema meanwhile has been in inspiring form for the Galaticos as the former Lyon startlet became only the fourth player to in Real Madrid’s history to surpass the 300 gaol mark after scoring 24 times in 27 appearances this season.
Sports Bible has now reported Karim Benzema has informed Real Madrid he will leave next summer if the club signs Erling Haaland with the prolific striker said to be unhappy over Florentino Perez's attempts to bring in a new forward.
According to the Daily Mail, Benzema claims that the club will have to choose between the two strikers with the French man open to walking away from the side.
Benzema is 'unwilling' to give up on his career, and so would be willing to quit should Haaland arrive.
Haaland has the option to move on from Dortmund at the end of the campaign when the £64million release clause written into his contract becomes active, and the club's CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted it will be difficult to keep him.
