Anthony Baffoe, former CAF Secretary General and an ex-Ghana player, has charged the Black Stars to recover from their slumber and go all out for the three points against Gabon.

The four times African champions looked crestfallen after the opening day defeat to Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations.

However, ahead of their second group game, the man who has seen it all at AFCON, visited the team at their training camp to inspire them to success.

"You must show hunger to win," he started. "Aubamayeng has recovered and I don't know if Jonathen Mensah, Abdul Mumin, Djiku or Daniel Amartey is going to start, I don't care!"

"From day one, when you move from the dressing room and you move into the tunnel, they must feel you. No smile, no more joking. Comoros, Gabon... Gabon is going to fall," he added.

The Black Stars need a win against the Panthers if they are to progress to the next stage of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Gabon started off on a bright note, after defeating debutants Comoros in their opener on Monday.

Four times African champions, Ghana has not won the tournament since 1982, and have also not been eliminated from the group stages since the 2006 edition in Egypt.

The team has also been close three times since 1982, having lost the finals in 1992, 2010 and 2015.

"The players looks buoyed. I mean Tony Baffoe is a legend and someone who got to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, so when he speaks, its a morale-booster for the players. In fact the senior players in the team know how important this game is and will do all they can to win the Gabon match. The attitude has been very positive," Boakye-Yiadom said.
