Captain of the senior national team of Ghana, Andre Ayew's availability for the second group C clash against Gabon on Friday is in doubt.
The 32-year-old Al Sadd star, who staid he felt sick before the Morocco game had to be rested for precautionary reasons.
Reports from Cameroon indicate he had to sit out as he rest of his teammates prepared for the crucial game against Gabon.
Ayew lasted the entire duration of the game against Morocco on Monday despite not feeling well.
The ex-Swansea man got a cut to his eye after a collision with Morocco defender Romain Saiss.
The Black Stars lost to the Atlas Lions, and will hope to get their AFCON campaign on track on Friday.
Andre Ayew admits not feeling well before Morocco game
Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, captain of Ghana's senior national football team, Andre Ayew has admitted not feeling well days before the opening Group C game against Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Al Sadd star revealed he had to force himself to feature against the North Africans because his teammates needed his leadership on the pitch. However, that did not work as a late Sofiane Boufal goal sunk the Black Stars at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Cameroon.
And despite the defeat, Ayew in a post match interview stated how confident he is the team will qualify to the next round.

FootballMeanwhile, Black Stars forward, Joseph Painstil says it's time for the team to bounce back from the opening day defeat to Morocco and respond by beating Gabon.
Ghana needs victory against Gabon on Friday, January 14, 2022 to boost their chances of progressing to the round of 16.
And after the defeat to the Atlas Lions, Painstil in his post match interview disclosed the Black Stars will seek redemption against the Panthers of Ghana.
