Ahmed Musa who is the captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria has stated clearly that the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cameroon will be his last for the three-time African champions.
Super Eagles camp is currently bubbling with players in high spirit ahead of their game against Egypt which will be played on Tuesday evening, January 11.
The former Leicester City forward has been playing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria since 2010 and was among the squad that won the Nations Cup in 2013 in South Africa.
Musa is also currently Super Eagles' most-capped player with 103 games with only Vincent Enyeama and Joseph Yobo the only other Nigerian players who have played 100 games.
According to the report on Cable, Ahmed Musa explained at the press conference on Monday afternoon in Cameroon that he wants his teammates to fight hard and win 2021 AFCON.

“I think this is my last AFCON in Shaa Allah.
“I have spoken to the boys that this is the only gift you can give to me. Because this is my last AFCON. And the boys told me that they are ready.
“My first AFCON was in South Africa in 2013 and we ended winning it. And my second appearance was in Egypt and we won the bronze.”

FootballEarlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Eagles of Nigeria on Friday evening, January 7, defeated Cameroonian giants Coton Sport 2-0 in a friendly match played in Garoua ahead of first AFCON game against Egypt.
Austin Eguavoen demanded that a friendly match be played for his wards so as for him to see their level of readiness before facing the seven-time African champions.
The Super Eagles actually paraded two teams against Coton Sport with Maduka Okoye first in goal, while the duo of Ahmed Musa and Taiwo Awoniyi led the attack.
Super Eagles of Nigeria scored their first goal in the 30th minute through captain Ahmed Musa who benefited from an assist by Chidera Ejuke.
