FootballAntonio Rudiger Takes Man Marking Too Literally, Leaves Fans in Stitches
- Images and videos of just how hard it is to mark Mohamed Salah have emerged in the aftermath of Liverpool's match against Chelsea
- Chelsea and Germany defender Antonio Rudiger is seen hanging on to Salah at all cost, taking man-marking a little too literally
- This caused laughter on social media, with some saying that it was the wisest option, while others questioned why the referee was not penalising Rudiger
Images and videos of how much 2021 AFCON-bound Mohamed Salah terrifies the opposition have emerged on social media.
The Egypt and Liverpool wizard was seen being held onto for dear life by Germany and Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger in a recent Premier League clash. Arguably the best player in the world today, it was not enough to stop Salah from scoring in a match that ended 2-2 at Stamford Bridge.
Broadcasting giant ESPNUK tweeted a collage of Rudiger more or less trying to get inside the jersey of Salah all afternoon. Footage from a fan (@mnunguyeidrisa) who was in attendance showed Rudiger hugging onto Salah like a boxer, though ironically, Salah turned him smartly to go and score in the ensuing phase of play.
Rivals and supporters laughed at the sight, with general consensus being that this was the only way one can currently stop the frightening Salah.

"From when holding a player like that in front of referees became allowed?! So Salah has no right to fall down or lose balance even if he had been grabbed from his his shoulder and upper body like that or idiots would say easy fall!"
@WalterWoodBush said:
"And then fans complain when players dive - Salah needed to go down to get the fouls as Rudiger was never blown up."

"His one job. And he bossed it up to perfection."

"Well, that's how hard it is to mark Salah. You need to hug him like your long lost blood brother that you've been missed for so long."
Premier League club to ban parents of children who run onto the pitch
Readers react to allegations of domestic abuse against Mamelodi Sundowns' Mothobi Mvala
FootballLeeds United has stated that it will hand out one-year bans to the parents of children who run onto the pitch to greet or ask for the shirts of players.
As reported on Sports Brief, Premier League fans have seen youngsters do this in recent times with an overwhelmingly positive response to their actions.
However, it appears that the Yorkshire-based club is over the feel-good factor of the moments.
