South Africa has many reasons to be proud when it comes to the country's sporting stars.
From world champion sports teams like the Springboks to multiple award-winning coaches like Pitso Mosimane, Mzansi has never been short of reasons for national pride.
Pitso recently took to Twitter to celebrate that national pride when he posted photos with a few members of the current Springbok squad. Jessie Kriel, Franco Mostert, Willie le Roux and Malcolm Marx all posed alongside Pitso and his family in the photo.
"Great meeting our fellow South Africans making us proud in the world. Keep on lifting our South African flag high," Pitso captioned the photos.
Pisto is the most successful South African coach in history, having won numerous titles during his time at Mamelodi Sundowns and then at current club Al Ahly in Egypt. Pitso has won three Confederation of African Football Champions League titles and three Confederation of African Football Super Cup titles.
Pitso was also recently named the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) Best African Club Coach of 2021, reports Sports24.
The Springboks are the current Rugby World Cup champions and will be looking to defend their title in France next year.
Probe launched into Pitso Mosimane’s participation in Champions League group stages draw
In other news related to Pitso Mosimane, Sports Brief earlier reported that Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane's involvement in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League and Confederation Cup draw has come under heavy criticism from fellow coaches.
Pitso was chosen by CAF to headline the draw, which saw his side Al Ahly drawn into the same group as his former side Mamelodi Sundowns. Pitso's participation in the draw has raised a lot of questions from fellow coaches and Al Merreikh's vice president, Adel Abugreisha, has taken it one step further by lodging a protest with CAF, The South African reported.
Al Merrikh were drawn alongside fellow Sudan team Al Hilal, Mamelodi Sundowns and Pitso's Al Ahly. Following the draw Abugreisha criticised CAF's decision to have Mosimane in the draw as he is a coach for one of the teams participating in the tournament.
