Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane's involvement in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League and Confederation Cup draw has come under heavy criticism from fellow coaches.

Pitso's participation in the draw has raised a lot of questions from fellow coaches and Al Merreikh's vice president, Adel Abugreisha, has taken it one step further by lodging a protest with CAF, The South African reported.

Al Merrikh were drawn alongside fellow Sudan team Al Hilal, Mamelodi Sundowns and Pitso's Al Ahly. Following the draw Abugreisha criticised CAF's decision to have Mosimane in the draw as he is a coach for one of the teams participating in the tournament.

"For the first time, one of the coaches of the 16 participating teams that qualified for the Champions League was involved in the draw," Abugreisha told Al-Hayah TV, KickOff reported.

Abugreisha added that they had lodged a protest with CAF but had not received a response thus far.

"This has nothing to do with our relationship with the clubs, the matter is for the Confederation of African Football, Mosimane was an opponent and a referee in the draw, and this happened for the first time. It's unjust for the Al Ahly coach to take part in the draw."
