Super Eagles Star Replies Egypt Coach, Tells Him the Result They Will Get Against Nigeria at AFCON

Carlos Queiroz who is the coach of the Egyptian national team has explained that his target is for his wards to beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their first match at the coming AFCON in Cameroon.

Super Eagles of Nigeria and Egypt will go head to head on January 11 in their first game at the African Cup of Nations which is expected to be a tough encounter considering the pedigree of these two teams.

In the last encounter between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Egypt which was international friendly match, Paul Onuachu scored the winner as Nigeria won 1-0.

According to the report on Complete Sports, Carlos Queiroz explained that Egypt are determined to beat not only Nigeria but all their opponents.

Carlos Queiroz's statement about the AFCON

“We have to play better than the team was 10 years ago. All the teams that we will face in the tournament are doing better now than they were in 2010. We’re not going to AFCON to take a walk, we are going to win.
“We need a winning mentality, when we win the first game we will want to win the next match and so on, this is our mentality. I want a stable, strong, and harmonious team that is able to go to the final stage of the qualifiers.”

Reacting to Carlos Queiroz's statement, Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi stated that it is expected for every coaches to aim winning against their opponents.

''What he said is not new because it is what he wants for his team which is allowed in football, but on the pitch of play, we are going to show Egypt the stuff we are made of.
''Egypt won't get a draw against us because we are aiming to win.''
