He received his first-ever title, MVP of the state tournament, after averaging 43.3 points through four games.
Later in his career, upon completing high school, he committed to playing college basketball for Wichita State over offers from South Dakota State and Arkansas State. After his sophomore season, Austin transferred to Oklahoma and sat out the following season due to set NCAA transfer rules.
After going undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft, Austin Reaves' signed his first contract, a two-way deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, in August 2021. He later made his NBA debut, scoring eight points off the bench in a 115-105 loss to the Phoenix Suns.
