Henry Nwosu's career stats
He spent his career at home with the New Nigeria Bank (NNB) of Benin City and the African Continental Bank (ACB) of Lagos. He also played for Ivory Coast's ASEC Mimosas F.C. and Cameroon's Racing FC Bafoussam.
A gifted midfielder, he was the youngest member of the Super Eagles victorious 1980 African Nations Cup squad and scored Nigeria's only goal at the 1980 Olympics. He holds the record for being the youngest Nigerian player to win the African Cup of Nations, a feat he accomplished before turning 17 in 1980.
Because of the windfall from the Nations Cup victory (the players each received a house in Festac Town) and the amount of money he was making, Nwosu became known in football circles as the "youngest millionaire." He also competed in 1982, 1984, and 1988 tournaments, finishing second in the latter two. His final game for Nigeria was in 1991.

Nwosu was named coach of the Nigerian U-17 team on September 27, 2008. However, he was fired in April 2009 following a string of poor results in preparation for the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
