Among the 10 teams set to compete, there is heightened curiosity surrounding Oracle Red Bull Racing and the nature of the car they will unveil for the 2024 season.
In the preceding 2023 season, the Austrian constructor made waves with their RB19 car, showcasing an unprecedented level of dominance in the sport's 73-year history. Winning 21 out of 22 races, they only missed out on a Singapore Grand Prix win.
Max Verstappen, their ace driver, clinched victories in an impressive 19 out of the 21 races, raising discussions about his unique driving style and speculation regarding whether the car was tailored exclusively to him at the expense of his teammate, Sergio Perez.
However, as the 26-year-old driver gears up for the 2024 season, he has responded to queries about his driving style.
Verstappen on his driving style
The Dutch driver, who claimed his third consecutive drivers’ championship last season, recently gave an interview with media outlet Autosport.com. When faced with questions regarding his driving style, Verstappen said, as quoted by @redbulletin:
"When people ask you: 'What is your driving style?', I can’t tell you because it’s about being able to adapt to certain situations or what the car likes as well."
When quizzed further about what he would want from the team’s 2024 car, he added:
"What do I want? I want more grip. There are a lot of things that you want, and some things are not realistic. So, I just adapt to the car that I get given."
While the exact amount of grip in the 2024 Red Bull car remains uncertain, it can be widely agreed upon that the car, designed by technical officer Adrian Newey, will undoubtedly be another remarkable piece of engineering.
