The rain continued to pour as it hampered stopped play on Day Two of the second Test match between South African and India at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
Not a single ball was bowled as the rampant Indians looked to pile on the runs against a beleaguered Proteas attack. India had finished on a worrying 272/3 at the close of play yesterday, with KL Rahul ominously poised on 122 runs not out.
Lungi Ngidi was the pick of the South Africans bowlers, claiming all of the visitor's bowlers for 45 runs off 17 overs. India had won the coin toss and chose to bat first.
Astute observers on social media were quick to realise that the rain delay worked in the hosts' favour.
"We don't mind if the game gets suspended for 3 days"
"Lol... Yeah right, we not fit for this match... The Gods of Afrika are fighting for us here."

Neil Foley said:
"This rain is a great result for the Proteas. It seems the rain dance worked"
Thabiso Sethwane said:
"The Indian batsman were on a steamroll yesterday, and appeared that they'd put up a big total. If things continue the same way today, this rain should be seen as window period opportunity to turn things around or hopefully a draw... The team should really look to dominate in the next Test match at the Wanderers."

Virat Kohli and the Indian cricket team are three Test matches away from making history but will face strong opposition in the form of a determined Protea team.
