The Pakistan-born wrist-spin wizard was known for his football-like celebration where he would sprint toward the crowd in ecstatic jubilation - but no more.

The 44-year-old is not as nimble as his new inspiration but it is the reason for the performance that matters. Tahir's son likes the Al-Nassr forward so the change is for the young man. Tahir explained to The Daily Star:

"He is a big fan of Ronaldo and he wants me to do it. I have been doing this for him, and it's just something not natural for me."

After retiring from the Proteas in 2019, Tahir has continued his career on the global T20 circuit and is currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League.

At international level, he took 57 wickets in 20 Tests, 173 scalps in 107 One Day Internationals and 63 more in his 38 T20s.

Along the T20 roadshow, Tahir has just passed the 500-wicket milestone while taking 5/26 for the Rangpur Tigers, as per India Today.
