Jose Mourinho was left stunned by the sheer size of Tyson Fury as the pair linked up in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the Francis Ngannou-Anthony Joshua fight.
The former Chelsea boss seemingly has a lot of time on his hands after getting dismissed by Roma in January 2024.
On Friday, March 8, he was part of a fleet of sports personalities who made the crossover from football to boxing and the F1, which headlines Riyadh’s activities this weekend.
Before gracing the Kingdom Arena, Mourinho was previously spotted at the Egypt Cup Final game between Al Ahly and Zamalek, where he presented the trophy alongside Ronaldo Nazario and Francesco Totti.

The 61-year-old then honoured an invite from the chairman for the Saudi General Authority Turki Al-Sheikh and got a front-row seat for the AJ-Ngannou fight.
Mourinho meets Fury
Through his Instagram, Mourinho shared to his over 4 million followers a photo alongside the Gypsy King as he marvelled at how big he was.
“Bigger than I thought …[h]uge!!!! [Tyson Fury]. Thanks a lot for the invitation [Turki Alalshikh].” The gaffer remarked on the photo-sharing platform in a post that has garnered more than 90,000 likes in less than 24 hours.
Known to few, Fury stands at a towering 2.06m (6ft 9in), which is an extreme height compared to Mourinho’s 1.76m (5ft 7in).

Meanwhile, Fury is recovering from an injury that left him with 11 stitches following a cut to his eye. At the moment, he is out of commission for official fights due to the injury, and his fight with Oleksandr Usyk was postponed, according to The Independent.

Regarding the Friday night fight, Anthony Joshua showed his boxing superiority as he defeated Cameroonian Ngannou with two knockouts.
This was Ngannou’s second professional boxing match after debuting against Fury in 2023.
The Cameroonian was knocked out by the British-Nigerian boxer in the second round and needed medical attention to get back to his feet.
Ngannou apologises for loss
Sports Brief also reported on Francis Ngannou’s first statement after losing to Anthony Joshua.
The 37-year-old described the defeat as a ‘bad day in the office’ as he appreciated fans for the support.
Joshua also showed class after the bout as he was heard telling the mixed martial artist to pursue his boxing aspirations despite the defeat.
