Oleksandr Usyk is in Spain training for his heavyweight fight against Tyson Fury before it was rescheduled, and he used the opportunity to show off his football skills.

Usyk and Fury were scheduled to unify their WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF titles in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on February 17, but it was postponed at the British boxer’s request.

The Gypsy King suffered a nasty cut around his eyes during sparring with Croatian boxer and mixed martial artist, Argon Smakici, who denied he intentionally injured the champion.

Per ESPN, Usyk refused to judge his opponent for the incident, despite his manager Egis Klimas slamming Fury and labelling him a coward, which left the Manchester-born boxer livid.

Usyk shows off penalty skills

The Cat has been in Spain for three months in intense training ahead of the fight before it was postponed, leaving his family in Ukraine and missing important dates.

After rescheduling the fight, he trained with Ukrainian Premier League club FC Polissya Zhytomyr, who are preparing in Murcia, Spain, for a mid-season friendly against Stjarnan.

As seen in a video on social media, the 37-year-old showed off his penalty skills, blasting into the net with his left foot and sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

Per SportStar, he signed a one-year professional contract with the club in July 2023 and featured in a friendly match in 2022. He could feature in the friendly game later today.

He trained with Tavriya Simferopol during his teenage days before swapping boots for gloves. Fury is also a football fan and supports Manchester United.

Usyk missed child’s birth

Sports Brief reported on Usyk missing his child’s birth while camping in Spain to prepare for the heavyweight tie against Fury, which was rescheduled.

He added that he sacrificed a lot in the past months and has missed several dates, including the New Year's celebrations, his birthday and those of his children.
