Former boxing heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder has disclosed the fighter he will be supporting in the bout between boxer Tyson Fury and MMA star Francis Ngannou.

Fury and Ngannou face off in Saudi Arabia on October 28, 2023 in a historic fight between two champions from two different sports.

The bout is expected to attract interest all around the world with footballers like Cristiano Ronaldo lined-up to be in attendance.

Unfortunately, Wilder will not be in the Arena for the epic fight on Saturday night in Riyadh due to his tight travel schedules.

However, the American fighter, who fought Fury three times, has thrown his weight behind Ngannou, hoping the Cameroonian fight emerges victorious.

"I don't know how it's going to go but it will depend on how he is feeling and how he has been training," Wilder responded when asked if Ngannou can knock Fury down.
"I am going for Ngannou for sure," said the boxer, in a video shared on social media.
"I am going with my African brother. He is from Cameroon and I am Edo. I am going for Ngannou and for the knockout," he added.

Wilder will be fighting British boxer Anthony Joshua in December, as reported by the BBC.

Anthony Joshua sends Wilder message ahead of bout

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Anthony Joshua is in high spirits after finishing off his last opponent with a brutal knockout punch and has wasted no time calling out his next one, a very household name.

Joshua delivered a vicious blow to knockout Robert Helenius in the seventh round. However, it appeared he intentionally prolonged the fight, having had opportunities in the fifth and sixth rounds of their encounter at the 02 Arena in London.

According to Metro UK, Helenius came in at short notice the original opponent, Dillian Whyte, was pulled from the show after returning an adverse anti-doping finding.
