Such beauty and craftsmanship were not meant to be hidden.

In the build-up to his crossover mega-fight with undefeated heavyweight boxer, Tyson Fury, Francis Ngannou received a special gift from football's biggest name.

Designed by Jacob Arabo and called 'Heart of Ronaldo', the $ 100,000 watch and his current surroundings are a world away from his roots.

Born in a village 300 km north-east of Cameroon's capital, Yaounde, Ngannou was once a child labourer digging in a quarry.

In the space of 25 years, The Predator has left West Africa, journeyed to France, conquered the UFC and is now rubbing shoulders with the wealthiest of elites.

Known for flattening his opponents well before the scheduled rounds are concluded, only the last of his 17 UFC wins went the distance. Six of those wins have been by knockout.

Speaking to MMA Junkie, Ngannou tried to articulate how it would feel to knock out the undefeated Gypsy King.

“I think that would be unique, man. That would be a different feeling. I don’t know how it will feel, but I know it will feel way different.”

The pair were in cordial spirits at a pre-fight standoff, with Fury reminding the Cameroonian that he was a 'high-performance athlete'.

The Gypsy King generally chooses the lighter side of life outside the ring, but he did not earn his 34-fight undefeated streak by chance.

The nimble heavyweight will know that Ngannou's three UFC defeats all came by decision after the fights went the distance, giving Fury the advantage if he turns the contest into a battle of attrition.

Ngannou shows appreciation

Sports Brief earlier reported on how Ngannou thanked Cristiano Ronaldo for the timekeeping gift.

The former Real Madrid star is known for his kindness and has replicated that gesture off the pitch.

Ngannou met Ronaldo earlier this year and the two formed a light friendship outside their sports.
