Former two-time world boxing heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has named three opponents he would like to fight next.

AJ lost all his titles to Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk as he was also defeated in their rematch, taking him away from the title picture.

He has been heavily touted to take on fellow Briton Tyson Fury, but somehow a deal could not be agreed upon.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has stated that the boxer now needs to fight his way back to the top again, as several opponents are now on the cards.

It was gathered that AJ and Hearn are expected to meet in Abu Dhabi to map out plans for how he will return next year, SunSport reports.

A potential rematch with Dillian Whyte is now on the cards, with AJ KO'ing Whyte in a grudge bout back in 2015.

And AJ confirmed that he is ready to take on the best in the division: He said:

"I like fighting good opponents. Yeah, I'll fight Otto [Wallin]. Yeah, I'll fight Dillian [Whyte]. I'll fight [Filip] Hrgovic."

"As much as it's about becoming a champion, I always felt like it was important for me to fight the best in my era.

"Because there was this whole stigma about cherry picking.

"If you want to get to get to the top, you have to take risks - calculated risks - but you definitely have to take risks. And I just like taking risks."

AJ says fight with Fury will still happen

Sports Brief earlier reported that Anthony Joshua has suggested that the highly-anticipated all-British bout with Tyson Fury will eventually happen 'in the near future'.

AJ has been touted to take on the Gypsy King, but somehow an agreement has not been reached since they were billed to meet in 2021.

Although both parties had signed a two-fight deal in March 2021, with the first bout scheduled for Saudi Arabia on August 14, a US Court ruled that Deontay Wilder was billed for a trilogy bout with Fury, which ended the agreement.
