Judge Glenn Feldman has explained his controversial scorecard decision in the most-recent Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua rematch staged in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Usyk put in a dazzling performance as he defeated Anthony Joshua via split-decision to defend his unified heavyweight world titles, as well as adding the Ring Magazine belt in their bout on Saturday night.

In a fight dominated by Usyk, boxing enthusiasts who monitored the bout felt the Ukrainian should have won by a unanimous decision but to the utter surprise of the boxing world, Judge Feldman viewed the rematch differently.

After the bout, Feldman was asked by iD Boxing how he scored the fight for Joshua.

“Just the way I did,” He replied as quoted by talkSPORT, before deferring to his supervisor who said, “I saw it as a very close fight.
“Understand that boxing is scored round by round, not by the fight as a whole and those rounds were razor close.
“It depends on your perspective, how you evaluated the impact and the effectiveness of the punch.
“I mean the key thing is they scored it as they saw it and that’s why we have three judges.”

Anthony Joshua reacts angrily by throwing two title belts out of the ring after losing bout to Oleksandr Usyk

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that British heavyweight boxer of Nigerian descent Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua, simply known as Anthony Joshua, lost his temper following his second successive loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk put in a dazzling performance as he defeated Anthony Joshua via split-decision in their rematch bout staged in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

It was a marked improvement on the part of Joshua, who was bamboozled in the first bout between the pair, but the Ukrainian southpaw boxer proved too strong for the British boxer on Saturday night.
