Renowned three-time World 1500m champion, Faith Kipyegon, has made a significant donation to athletics history by donating her iconic championship-winning boots to the Museum of World Athletics (MOWA).

She wore these vibrant pink running shoes during her remarkable double victory at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

During last year's competition, Kipyegon's dominance was on full display, where she clinched both the 1500m and 5000m titles.

In the 1500m final in Budapest, she demonstrated her strategic prowess by controlling the pace of the race before unleashing a powerful sprint in the final stretch, leaving her competitors trailing behind.

Crossing the finish line in 3:54.87, she secured her place in history, becoming the first woman to achieve a hat-trick of World Championship titles at the distance, as reported by K24.

Her previous victories in London in 2017 and Oregon in 2022 showcased her remarkable talent and determination, with the silver medal in Doha in 2019 serving as a testament to her resilience after the birth of her daughter, Alyn.

Looking ahead, Kipyegon is setting her sights on further glory at the Olympic Games in Paris, where she aims to become the first athlete to win three consecutive Olympic 1500m gold medals.

“If I win three times, back-to-back Olympic titles at 1500m, it will motivate the next generation,” she said, as quoted by World Athletics.

Her achievements inspire future generations and cement her legacy as one of the greatest middle-distance runners ever.

Beyond her unparalleled success on the track, Kipyegon's journey from a barefoot 16-year-old at the 2010 World Athletics Cross Country Championships to a global icon is a testament to her determination.

She joins an elite group of athletes, including Usain Bolt and Yelena Isinbayeva, who have left a mark on the sport through their unparalleled achievements.

Why Faith Kipyegon is Kenya’s greatest female athlete

Sports Brief previously explained why Faith Kipyegon is considered one of Kenya’s greatest athletes.

Her first significant win came in the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil, where she clocked 4:08.92 in the women's 1500m.

It got better and better for Kipyegon from that point.
