- Asbel Kiprop has been involved in a series of cheating scandals since his doping allegations emerged
- Photos and clips have emerged on social media showing the ex-1500m champion hanging out with different ladies
- This led to his wife abandoning him for another man after she moved out of her troubled matrimonial home
- The short distance runner was banned in April 2019 for four years by IAAF for breaching doping rules
Former 1500m Olympic champion Asbel Kiprop’s wife Sammary Cherotich has announced engagement to a new lover after moving on from her troubled marriage.
The couple had been separated for a while after scandals of the athlete cheating on her arose.

Cherotich took to her Facebook page on Tuesday, October 22, to share the news to all and sundry and confirmed she had gotten engaged to Police Inspector Kelvin Kip Busienei.
This she did by changing her Facebook profile to read "got engaged to Kelvin Kip Busienei".
His new lover also took to Facebook and shared a photo Cherotich together with his mother and grandmother.
"Three special ladies in my life: My baby (Cherotich), grandmother and mom," Busienei captioned it.
Kiprop’s troubles began when he tested positive for the prohibited blood booster Erythropoietin (EPO) in 2017.
The former athlete however, denied the allegations claiming his urine was tampered with by the testers but was subsequently banned in April 2019 for four years by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF).
His video and photos were circulating on major social media platforms of him and his mpango wa kando (side-chick) in car dancing suggestively.
It was reported the athlete had been angered by a certain Henry Rotich, claiming that he was behind his doping ban.
He therefore decided to get back on him by cheating with his wife, Nancy Rotich.
Soon after the doping allegations emerged, other steamy photos and clips emerged online showing the 1500 meters champ in compromising positions with a lady believed to be his friend's lover.
“Asbel is depressed as we speak and needs urgent counselling. Kenyans should stand with him the same way they celebrated his wins. I am not defending him because he is my husband but because I know he is a talented athlete,” Cherotich said in 2018.
The short distance runner has maintained his innocence and later apologised to his wife.
