Kaizer Chiefs fans will reportedly have to wait longer for the official unveiling of Nasreddine Nabi as the club’s next head coach ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The Tunisian tactician has reportedly agreed to become the next Amakhosi coach after talks with the management of the Soweto giants, who are desperate to bring in an experienced gaffer.

According to GOAL, Nabi’s arrival at Kaizer Chiefs is set to be delayed due to his participation in the Moroccan Throne Cup after leading his current club AS FAR Rabat to the final.

Rumours suggest the Tunisian coach has signed a two-year deal with Amakhosi but cannot join the South African club until the conclusion of the cup competition - his final game in charge of AS FAR Rabat.

AS FAR Rabat will take on either Raja Casablanca or Oujda in the final of the Moroccan Throne Cup, slated for June 30.

Nabi keen to end Chiefs title drought

Meanwhile, Nabi will be guiding Amakhosi in their quest to end the club’s trophy drought accepting to take charge of the struggling South African club next season, IOL reports.

Chiefs’ last trophy came when they won the Premier Soccer League title in the 2014/15 season, meaning they have gone nine whole years without any silverware.

Nabi has confirmed he is eager to join the Glamour Boys after his final dance in the Moroccan top flight.

Kaizer Chiefs job still possible Benni

Sports Brief also reported that Benni McCarthy's future at Manchester United remains uncertain, so Kaizer Chiefs may yet go to the South African coach to solve a coaching issue.

The Soweto giants have continued to make the headlines as they search for a new head coach who could help them reclaim their lost glory, last winning a major trophy in 2014.
