Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper, Itumeleng Khune, has sent a heartfelt message to the club's loyal supporters after being honoured for his 25 years of service.

The 36-year-old, who briefly came off the bench in the goalless draw against Polokwane City, expressed his deep appreciation for the Amakhosi faithful and their support.

The veteran acknowledged the importance of the club's supporters in the post-match interview following the draw with Polokwane City in the DSTv Premiership.

He stressed that the fans' presence and encouragement at the stadiums push the players to achieve the desired results. However, the loyal Glamour Boy was disappointed that the team has been unable to consistently deliver victories, especially at home, which is the standard expected of the club.

"We are nothing without the Amakhosi faithful. We should be winning every game, especially at home. I know that all the games that we play, home or away, are all Kaizer Chiefs home games because these people travel with us wherever we go. So we need to appreciate them more by giving them the desired results," said Khune, as reported by iDiski Times.

He also expressed a desire to see the team return to the drawing board and find ways to improve in the upcoming season, with the sole aim of putting smiles on supporters' faces again.

Khune's commitment to the club has been unwavering. Since his debut in the 2007/08 season, he has won an impressive 12 trophies, including three league titles.

Despite a recent suspension for an alleged incident in the training ground, Khune remains a respected figure within the club. As reported by Soccer Laduma, the management wished to reward him for the overwhelmingly positive memories he has provided the club.

Cavin Johnson stresses Chiefs' transfer policy

Sports Brief reported on Johnson's insistence that Chiefs did not need the January window.

Amakhosi brought in 10 new faces last year in July, and the interim boss insisted he had enough quality to work with.

They had over a month of uninterrupted preparation time to fine-tune their second-half-of-the-season strategy and fans were expecting more.
