Modise says the former Masandawana manager can only be successful if given the freedom to shape the team in his image.

The 41-year-old, who worked with Mosimane during his time with the national team and Sundowns, knows firsthand the coach's winning formula.

According to Modise, Mosimane's success is due not only to his coaching prowess but also to the players taking responsibility.

"He’s done wonders for everything [every team] that he coached, his track record speaks for itself. But yet again, when are we gonna speak about the players taking responsibility, because it’s always about coaches getting fired, and coaches getting hired. But the common denominator is always the players who are the ones that are playing," he said, as reported by The South African.

Mosimane's track record speaks for itself, having transformed Sundowns from relegation contenders to champions in just a year. Modise believes that if he is given the opportunity to overhaul the Chiefs squad, he might be able to replicate his success.
