Nigeria national team caretaker coach Finidi George was spotted with former Barcelona star Emmanuel Amunike at the Enyimba Stadium as they both battle to become the next permanent coach of the Super Eagles.

The Super Eagles legends have both applied for the vacant coaching role in the Nigerian national team, and the Nigerian Football Federation has yet to reach a conclusion in their selection.

One of the major highlights during the game between Enyimba and Heartland in the NPFL was the meeting between the former Nigerian internationals.

Enyimba's next game in the Nigerian league will be against Sunshine Stars, according to a report by Soccerway.

Top candidates for Nigeria job

Sports Brief earlier reported that Finidi has been eliminated from the race to become the next Super Eagles coach because he does not possess a UEFA Pro coaching license.

Amunike is believed to be on the final shortlist for the vacant Super Eagles job and allegedly heads the list of five coaches who are now being crosschecked for the role.
