Jose Peseiro's quest to be the next Cameroon manager after reportedly reaching an agreement with FA president Samuel Eto’o has come to an abrupt end after a new manager was appointed by the Sports Ministry.
Eto’o had challenged the Sports Ministry on the choice of who would become the national team coach of Cameroon following the exit of Rigobert Song after his departure in February.
According to Own Goal Nigeria, Cameroon’s Sports Minister, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, had appointed Marc Brys as Cameroon’s new coach but the appointment was rebuffed by the FA led by Eto’o.
The Cameroon FA claims the Sports Ministry does not have the right to appoint a coach for the senior national team, terming it as government interference which can lead to a ban from FIFA.
